Did Kerry Just Get Married Or Something?

What the heck is going on? I mean, I understand posing with your new runningmate for the cameras. But these three press pictures--seemingly taken on three different occasions--each seem odd, and together they seem positively suggestive, especially when taken with the joke that people ought to vote for them because "We've got better hair." What the heck is going on here? I'm, like, totally creeped out.

UPDATE! Others have been noticing the same thing! Drudge has a similar piece under the headline CAN'T KEEP THEIR HANDS OFF EACH OTHER.

I think Kerry is pining for the metrosexual voting block.

Thanks, Jeff! Was going to note that, but you beat me to it, fair and square.

Here's an easy link for those who want to see the story.

Jimmy,

I think your comments are pretty tacky. This really surprises me because I admire your balanced, objective replies on Catholic Answers.

Anon,

I'm sorry to disappoint. I noticed what was by any standards bizarre behavior by candidates running for political office and commented upon it.

Others have subsequently noticed and commented upon the same thing, including Associated Press, The Washington Times, and Drudge--as well as *numerous* bloggers.

My comments above may be more jocular than if I were asked to comment on the same thing on the radio show, but that is because when I am on the radio show I am at work and here I am not.

My blog is a place where I can relax a bit in terms of the topics I cover and the humor I use. Since humor is a very subjective thing, not all jokes will please everyone. I'm sorry this one didn't please you.

I hope you will recognize that when I do apologetics, I seek to be very professional. Even here on the blog, when I answer someone's apologetics question I try to be as balanced, precise, and objective as I am on the air.

Just a balancing opinion.. I don't think your comments are tacky.
I think the affectionate and over-the top happiness is very "creepy". They seem to be putting on a big show.
