  1. Having refined carbohydrates would have that high, and low effect. However consuming high complex carbohydrates has the opposite effect. I feel very energized all day since changing my eating habits. By the way, you can get all the protien your body needs without consuming any meat whatsoever! Though not authoritative on nutrition, this is an interesting bible passage Dan 1.1-16

  3. I started on Low carb, and mostly low calorie diet. What I have realized is my hunger level is way down. When I ate high carbs(I ate almost only carbs), I would begin to eat and NOT be able to stop. If I was home in the evening I would eat all night and my body would NEVER say: Stop. Now I have actually stopped eating things and put them in the refrigerator for later. My need to eat has changed with low carb diet.

  4. TP: That is indeed one of the things you find with a low carb diet. You eat less because your body gets the “I’m full” message. Even without restricting my calorie intake on a low carb diet, my total caloric intake for the day is markedly lower when I eat low carb than otherwise.
