Personality Test Soup

I am not a big fan of personality tests. Some are outright goofy pseudo-science (e.g., the Enneagram). Others are slightly more scientific (e.g., the Myers-Briggs).

HERE’S AN INTERESTING STORY EXPLAINING THE PROBLEMS WITH SUCH TESTS.

Some of the criticisms to be made of them are quite startling.

Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. She was in it, but not much.
[note: this exchange belong under the SpongeBob SquarePants movie review entry.]

  2. There’s a big fuss here in Australia at the moment about abuse of mental health tests. Bosses in government departments have been giving them to their employees whenever they complain about something, and the bosses are allowed to see everything they write in the test, not just the final verdict of it. All the psychologists and stuff are outraged at the way these tests have been used to harass employees.

SpongeBob would be an ENFS (Extrovert, iNtuitive, Feeling, Spastic).
    Rhys:
Wow! Hope y’all get that straightened out!
