Just in case there happens to be any Star Wars fans here….
Star Wars Online Quiz
Bah. I closed it after the first question. They perpetuate the myth that Hamill called out"Carrie!!" after the battle in the first movie. Totally wrong and debunked by the actor himself.
Jimmy:
There's actually an error in the quiz. The first to introduce original story elements, outside the movies, was actually the God-forsaken, evil, Satan-inspired "Star Wars Holiday Special."
Among other things, the "Special" featured almost an hour of untranslated, tacky Wookie dialogue; this dialogue is interrupted by, among other things, a music sequence where Chewbacca's father, Lumpy, views a semi-pornographic (human) black woman sing some jazzy tune. The sequence makes it clear that he's watching to get sexual arousal.
We're also shown a sequence starring Bea Arthur (yes, Bea Arthur!), as she plays the new Mos Eisley Cantina bartender. We hear her sing a tune of her own. (Ugh!)
There's also a cartoon sequence where Luke, Han, and the rebels meet Boba Fett for supposedly the first time. This doesn't in any way fit in with the established continuity.
Oh, and the "Special" ends with Princess Leia leading the Wookie "Life Day" celebrations by singing some cheesy song to the tune of the "Star Wars" Opening theme.
Ugh!
Gene, yes, it was Star something or another.... (Jimmy will tell you, I have to be tied to the chair to get me through almost anything in the sci-fi mode.)
Okay, so I got two Yodas and a Lando Calrissian (14 of 15). Missed the question about whether Marvel Comics or Splinter of the Mind's Eye introduced new extra-story elements first.
Ed, Ed, Ed . . . you must be a Star Trek fan! ;)
But this quiz was too easy! (Oh, pardon, my geek is showing.)
