The Ronald Knox Society

Rknox

Msgr. Ronald Knox, one of the great British converts of the 20th century and perhaps a future patron saint of Anglican-convert priests, now has a society devoted to the promulgation of his life and work. It is titled The Ronald Knox Society of North America.

"The Ronald Knox Society of North America is a literary society dedicated to Msgr. Knox and his literary accomplishments. We are quite simply a group of assorted people who enjoy, and have benefited from, the writings of Msgr. Knox. Our goals are neither apologetic, nor scholastic. We count ourselves indebted to Msgr. Knox and therefore seek only to make others aware of a vast mine of spiritual and literary treasures available to them."

How cool!

As an aside, if you’d like to read a sample of Msgr. Knox’s work, check out his satirical essay on false expressions of ecumenism and interreligious dialogue, Reunion All Around, written while he was still an Anglican.

  1. Msgr Knox is hardly a hero or what might be termed a good Catholic. His efforts to undermine the faith rank him as a five star judas.

  2. I think I stayed in a four-star judas once. It cost me slightly more than 30 pieces of silver.
By the way, what does “NeoCon” stand for?

  3. Neo-Con stands for Neo conservative. Most agree it refers to those who follow the ideology of the Trotskites,( Leon Trotsky, the communist.)
former liberals who now call themselves conservatives today.
some say their aims are world domination with America being the dominate power. This is why we are in Iraq, and are rumored to soon be fighting in Iran and Syria.
Neo- Cons see the interests of America and Israel to be very similiar.
People sometimes associate the following names with being Neo Cons; Don Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Condi Rice, Geo Bush Jr, Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Scouter Libby, Karl Rowe, Dick Morris, Bill O Reilly, Shauwn Vannity.

  4. Funny you should post this on All Saints Day. Knox has a wonderful little tome from Ignatius Press called “Captive Flames” that is a reflection on certain saints. Ignatius has had it on sale at a deep discount for the last two Lenten seasons; look for it next year!

  5. Is that a pipe he’s smoking in the picture you link to or is he chewing his pen…and do Jimmy and Msgr. Knox belong to the SSPS and this is a cryptic clue?
And we all thought the SSPX was dodgy!…no, this is something far more dangerous, it’s the Secret Society of Pipe Smokers!
Things that make you go hmmm…
    God Bless.

  6. Well after reading this article I would only say this that Msgr Knox is a good catholic and he has a great faith on his religion. So anyone can brief me more about Msgr Knox, that would be greatful.
