Torture Amnesty Day

by Jimmy Akin on November 30, 2006

in Internet

In connection with torture, people have been very forthcoming with information in the comboxes, and as a show of good faith for their willingness to share this information with us, I am declaring today Torture Amnesty Day.

People will not be tied to torture posts today.

Posts will be about other subjects entirely.

Torture may resume tomorrow, however.

Is reading letters from the President of Iran considered torture?
...or comedy??
Life is a comedy for those of us who think, and a tragedy for those of us who feel.

Somehow we all ended up talking about torture, anyway . . .
Okay, everyone: do not, I mean do not, not, not, think about your tongue.

Somehow we all ended up talking about torture, anyway . . .

"No torture today; torture tomorrow."

I'm Sure I can find one for you........

"1000 well done Novus Ordo masses"
I'd like to sit through just one.

JW,
What? I think a day off from that those that have a disordered view of Christianity.
We should make all of you sit through 1000, well done Novis Ordo masses, then go minister to the (immigrant) stranger, top it off with Visiting Aids patients with the Sisters of Charity, and a reinactment of ST. Francis embracing the leper.
Maybe that would make you more human (in the best Christ centered way.)

Torture amnesty day.
Does this mean I don't have to go to my statistics class today?

JW,
Does the Church have some kind of problem with same-sex friendships? I hope not. I have several friends of the same sex (we're all males).

Dear JW:
I don't understand you. Honest.
Well, God Bless, I'm off to play piano.

Well, that's nice. A whole day off for those who have an intrinsically disordered inclination towards contraception, same sex friendships, speculative thought, St Louis Jesuits' music, welcoming the (immigrant) stranger, English/vernacular liturgy, not taking themselves too dam seriously, suffering other fools gladly, living and letting live - GAUDIUM ET SPES!!!
St Andrew, pray for us
