Michael Dubruiel, RIP

Dubruiel
It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Michael Dubruiel, the husband of Amy Welborn and father of two.

On the left is a picture of him and one of their children in the Colosseum.

Michael collapsed suddenly at the gym and could not be revived.

I would like to extend condolences to Amy and her whole family, as well as prayers for Michael and all of them.

I know what it is like to lose a spouse suddenly and at an unnaturally young age, and it is a place you really don't want to be.

I invite everyone to pray for Michael, Amy, and their whole family.

  1. Speechless here but praying ever so hard for the family. Thanks for the posting. It’s like losing a special friend you never met.

  2. There really are no words that can describe or assuage such grief…
“Eternal rest grant unto them him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen.”

  3. May he rest in peace. my family’s prayers are with Amy and her children. I cannot imagine what she is going through right now. May God give her strength and consolation.
FYI – Father Z is collecting spiritual bouquet posts.
Amy has requested that those who would like to help should buy Michael’s books because the proceeds go directly to their kids college fund. Lisa Hendey at Catholic Mom is helping with that request at http://new.catholicmom.com/2009/02/04/february-book-club/.
Danielle Bean has established a support fund to a donation fun to help their children at her site: http://daniellebean.com/2009/02/04/please-help-spread-the-word/

  4. What can I say except to express my condolences to Amy and her children.

  5. When I first read this notice, I thought about the tragic loss and the good cause for prayer, but I didn’t really recognize the name.
Then last night I was reading reviews of a book I was thinking of getting at Amazon. I read one particularly thoughtful review and I thought, “Who wrote this?” When I looked, it hit me: “Oh, THAT Michael Dubruiel.” I have read his reviews many times, so that I had come to expect them to be fair, informative, and readable.

  6. I am so, so sorry to hear of this. I feel so bad for Amy and her children, especially the little boys. Can’t say much more right now, but I will try to add my prayers to the list Danielle Bean is making.
