  1. When I saw the mini trailer for Monsters vs. Aliens during the Superbowl, I almost couldn’t believe this was being offered as a possibly enjoyable film for kids, let alone anyone. I think the xeroxed rear end gag decided it for me :-7

  2. Too bad about Monsters vs. Aliens, from the TV ads it looked like it had a cool “No! It is I who will eat YOU!” moment.

  3. Ah, Bolt was one of, and perhaps, my favorite movie of 2008. I thought it had more humor than Wall•E, for instance, though I also liked the latter very much also.
Also, would it be possible to get a quick (one sentence) evaluation of Doubt before it leaves the last second-runs here in Chicago? Or would that spoil the surprise? Basically, I’m wondering if it’s worth hunting down at this point, now that I have time for a movie.

  4. Anyone else disappointed that in Bolt they used the term “person” instead of the more traditional “master” for the pet’s POV? I know Disney always played with this motif, e.g. Pongo’s pet or Trusty’s “a dog’s best friend is his man”, but it just seems like forced egalitarian term.

  5. Our kids saw it at the movies in 3D and loved it. I don’t think they have enjoyed a film more than this one!
