Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, Mea Maxima Culpa

I'd like to make a quick apology for not blogging recently. I've had a lot going on (including a bout of food poisoning last night–ick!–when I was otherwise planning to blog), and I haven't been able to get to it.

So . . . my apologies.

And I'll keep this short so that I can now–immediately–proceed to putting up a post of substance.

Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. Hi Jimmy,
No problem — I completely understand about being too busy for blogging.
By the way, I see that you have recently started blogging on the National Catholic Register web site. You might consider giving us some teaser posts here that link over there for the full post. That way we would get more frequent content here, and you would have a chance to promote your NCRegister blogging.
For example, Patrick Archbold of Creative Minority Report, who also blogs at NCRegister, did something like that here:
    The NASCAR of Apologetics
He took the first two paragraphs of his NCRegister post, and posted them on his personal blog, with a link to read the rest on the NCRegister site. You might not want to do this with all your posts at NCRegister, but maybe just for some of them that you think are particularly good.
Or you might just do a single weekly round-up post here, where you provide a list of links to all of your NCRegister posts for the week, kind of like what Thomas Peters does for his American Principles Project blog here:
    Obamacare, Sexism, and Teleprompters
Anyway, just some suggestions, which you of course are free to ignore if you wish. 🙂
And one final note, for any readers who may be looking for your NCRegister blog, here is the link:

  2. If you don’t start blogging, we’ll start flogging! We need our healthy doses of good, solid, Catholic Apologetics peppered with odd science-fiction musings and fun speculations on modern trends.
That said, Great job on the newest post on dating the age of the world…
