  1. I like Tom Lehrer’s song – the first and only WWIII song: So Long Mom, I’m Off to Drop the Bomb.
There ought to be a book of songs for unusual situations. I think a Leap Year Birthday song would be appropriate and a song for Snark huntng.

  2. Funny, Descartes, the father of dualism, is also the father of solipsism. You might want to rethink your alleged connection between solipsism and atheism.

  3. The Atheists should be singing “Hail Holy Mirror” (since they believe selfishness is required) or “Hail Holy Dice” (as they think everything was created by the Holy Dice of Chance)

  4. Dress up for Mass and listen to Gregorian Chant!! It seems that everyone associates this with Catholics except … Catholics. Sigh.

  5. There is no such thing as an atheist hymnal. A hymnal is a book of worship.

  6. I couldn’t watch the video. I went by the title. I am sick, today, so my brain is on vacation and it left no forwarding address.

  7. Mr. Chicken,
In the 1980’s, Mike Batt wrote a theatrical musical based on Lewis Carroll’s The Hunting of the Snark. Enjoyable, though dated.

  8. “Catholics dress up for Mass and listen to Gregorian chant.”
    If only it were true.

  9. Bah. There were solipsists and dualists for millennia before Descartes was born. Cartesian dualism is just anemic Gnosticism, or perhaps just humorless Taoism. And every six-year-old invents solipsism at least once before they even hear Descartes’ name. Atheists are a step away from solipsism because they can’t even admit, with the pagans, that there are forces greater than their own minds guiding the world around them. It’s just a tiny skip from “My mind is the greatest force in existence” to “My mind is the only thing in existence.”
I can handle someone who can’t acknowledge God in Christ, but it takes a peculiar sort of banal blindness to face Creation with anything less than awe and wonder.

  10. >There is no such thing as an atheist hymnal. A hymnal is a book of worship.
Ah, but if we are dealing with people who worship themselves….

  11. Every atheist worships himself, or at least his own cleverness.
Not everyone who worships himself is atheist, or the pharaohs would be in a pickle.
