Actually hand holding HAS officially been dealt with in the journal notifiae in 1975. It was in response to a question.

Hi, Jimmy, peace be with you. How big a deal is it to say “God” rather than “His”? For example, at the HS I teach at we are given mass guides that instruct us to say: “May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of [God's] name, for our good, and the good of all [God's] Church.”

The “big deal” is called: Obedience.
