  1. I can’t follow the link. If others have this problem that might be why there are no comments yet.

  2. You might have to have cookies turned on in your browser settings. I have Firefox set to ask me on a site-by-site basis if I want to allow the site to set cookies. When I tried it at first, without letting the site set a cookie, it didn’t work. I tried it later (on my other computer), and this time I allowed the cookie, and it worked. But that could be just a coincidence; there could be some other reason why it didn’t work the first time.

  3. I tried it again and it worked. Same computer, no setting changes. Something must have changed on SDG’s, JA’s, or Overstock.com’s side.
    and yes, funny error message.

  4. I must say though that I suspect the whole thing is a ploy to get people to go to their website. The error page is on a timer, so that you quickly get moved against your will to their main page.

  5. With all this posting, you must have forgotten to ask for decaf.

FWIW, I drink non-decaffeinated Sen-Cha green tea all day long. Less caffeine than coffee, but a steady supply.

It’s not a ploy — at least, the page itself is a real error page that really got a workout yesterday as Overstock.com struggled to keep their site afloat.
Why? Because they were offering one of the summer’s most entertaining movies, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, for less than $10 (plus a dollar shipping), starting at 12 noon. And lots of people wanted to buy it right away, before they sold out. And it crashed the site.
So, it’s possible that at some points even the error message wasn’t available. Certainly the link itself didn’t change.
Oh, and it’s definitely standard web development procedure to point error messages to auto-forward to a better destination, if available.

That might be one reason you suffer from insomnia :-3)
