Dumb Terrorists

Well, if THIS is any indication of what we are up against in terms of domestic terrorist sleeper cells, I say "keep ’em coming".

Props to the FBI, but these guys can’t be the sharpest khanjars in the drawer. They brought a videotape of themselves at Terror Summer Camp (Lake "Wanabommalot") to a local video shop to have it dubbed onto DVD. The manager tipped off the Feds.

The first write-up of the story I saw this morning indicated only that it was six "Yugoslav Nationals". The linked article gets more specific. HINT: They are not disgruntled Christian Homeschoolers.

GET THE STORY.

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. 1. Yeah, I was being glib. I know that there are very likely real threats from some real smart cookies lurking out there.
This is one in the “WIN” column for us, though, and that’s a good thing.
Part of me DOES want to believe that anyone with a real probing intelligence would see through the Islamofascist thing before long. Not that they would want to wrap themselves in the American flag, but they might opt for a future with more, umm… constructive possibilities? Ones that don’t involve vaporizing one’s self along with a bunch of innocent civilians and so many pounds of nitrate fertilizer?
Maybe they would opt for farming, where they could put that fertilizer to good use.

    Tim J.,
This martyr mentality is not unlike that of the Japanese Kamikazes in World War II.
In fact, (unfortunately) I think that’s one of the reasons why there are those radicals who find it appealing due to the seeming ‘valor’ and ‘sacrifice for one’s beliefs’ (incidentally, it might be like Mk 8:35 for them — that is, whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel shall save it); not to mention, the number of ‘virgins’ you meet in the after-life as a reward!
In the end, hopefully, Our God will save us from such people and their venomous ‘fruits’!

  3. “This martyr mentality is not unlike that of the Japanese Kamikazes in World War II.”
I think there are some Japanese vets who might disagree. The Kamikazes attacked only military targets, and died with honor.
    The Jihadis have no honor.

That is one distinction that is apparantly lost as far as these folks and their innocent victims are concerned.
Of course, they can just as easily twist things around (as they have) and say that there is no such thing as an innocent in their war against ‘The Great Satan’ (in their warped minds, that would be America).

  5. Although they weren’t kamikazees, some of the Japanese pilots who attacked Pearl Harbor learned that some of the targets they had bombed were not military targets and were ashamed, not to mention furious with their commanders who had planned the attacks.

  6. Truth be told, these particular Jihadis were planning to attack military bases, but on the whole the terrorists have shown little discretion or honor in their choice of targets.

  7. Be careful guys and gals. ASCII like this will bring out the trolls just like the Dr. Beckwith entry. 🙂

  8. You know, on a slight tangent, can I just point out the there is no such thing as a “Yugoslav National” any more…
    Bosnia anyone?
Once again, the MSM outdoes itself.
BTW, I heard the King of Siam was at the Kentucky Derby this year!
    TBS

  9. I would like to point out that families live on military bases making for a very soft target once you get through security.
I hope they get prosecuted for treason, terrorism, and attempted mass murder.
Maximum sentence for the first offense is death.

  10. Is anyone wondering why US immigration policy let these men in the country to work in the first place? I have heard several stories recently about US citizens with foreign spouses who endured all kinds of problems trying to wrest work permits out of Immigration Service. Hey, Cherry Hill, NJ, do you really need “Yugoslav nationals” to deliver your pizzas? curious.

  11. My brother is an MP in the Army. While stationed in Germany, he met and married a woman from Kenya. He was then stationed in Kansas.
He has spent nearly a year trying to get her a passport or visa or anything so she can get into the US.

  12. Has anyone thought about the man at the video store? Will we ever hear if it gets bombed or the man dies “accidentally”? Hail Mary….

  13. I wonder if this will have an effect on the fast food eating habits of Americans. After all, changing your ways in response to the pizzhadists is better than actually doing something to take a bite out of their activities.

  14. Stupidity and terrorism go together.
“I want you to, on blind faith, accept this insane mullah’s interpretation of the Koran, despite the fact that his teaching is nowhere in the Koran, and then at the same time, call yourself a devout Muslim while killing innocent civilians.”
They already turned their brains (and consciences) off by the time they got suckered into doing terrorism.
