Mystery Photo #2

Also feel free to photo caption this one.

Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. The Phantom of the Opera dressed as the bride of Colossus.
    Paul Smith’s one was good.

  2. St. Joan of the Electric Arc
Old habits dry hard [okay, I stole this one from a recent Frank and Ernie comic]

  3. Image of the Virgin Mary (Immaculate Conception) sent by the USA to the Basilica of the Annunciation at Nazareth. Sculpted by Charles Madden.
Inspired by G.M. Hopkins quote. “The Grandeur of God…will flame out. Like shining from shook foil.”

    In Jesu et Maria,

  5. Something the Archbishop of Los Angeles had commissioned for the absolutely macabre Taj Mahoney Cathedral on the left coast.

  6. It wasn’t enough for the mob to just dunk the man in bronze-they had cover that with steel.

  7. Isn’t colloquial silver the preferred tonic for silvered-tongued devils 🙂 Nice to have you back, Rosemarie.
